Aero Rubber Timeline

Our Story

With two desks and 1,000 sq ft of space, Aero Rubber Company started its custom rubber part manufacturing business on January 3rd,1973. Founder John Kasman, his business partner, and his wife Marilyn built the company from the ground up on a foundation of commitment, hard work, quality service & products, and family values.

Not long after the formation of the new company, Aero experienced major hardship as a building fire destroyed all but two fire-proof filing cabinets in the office. Aero moved to a larger facility in Alsip, IL, to continue its path to success. Over the next decades, Aero continued to grow and expand to new facilities in 2006 to an 82,000-sqft factory building in Tinley Park, IL.

Some of Aero’s greatest milestones were the addition of the rubber bands division in 1974, and the introduction of the PromoStretch® Band product line in 2003. Aero Rubber Company®, Inc. was incorporated in 1980, and obtained its ISO 9001 quality certification in 1999.

Throughout the decades, along with facility and departmental expansions, the number of employees has increased significantly. To provide much-needed support to the rapidly growing enterprise, in 2015, Bev Schatte, daughter of John Kasman, accepted the role of Aero’s new president. As the company grows, it strives to adapt to changing market conditions and seek out new opportunities, while remaining persistent in the delivery of high-quality rubber products and manufacturing services.

Through it all, 50 years, four locations, and two generations later, Aero Rubber succeeds in upholding the core values it was built upon in 1973, with a fervent dedication to its employees, customers, and the community.
